Jacob is a fisheries scientist who has worked in Iceland and the USA. He holds two master's degrees, one in Biomedical Science from Harvard Medical School and one in Natural Resource Management from the University of Akureyri in Iceland. He worked as a marine resources expert at Iceland's Marine Research Institute for a number of years before returning to the USA to pursue a doctorate at the University of Connecticut.
Jacob is interested in securing marine fisheries resources through basic research which directly supports fisheries management. He has published several papers and created stock assessments for Lumpfish in Iceland and Tautog in the USA.
He lives in Connecticut with his wife Andrea, three children, Zelia, Lazer and Inez, and their dog Jack.
